Boat Details

Any sailor with an interest in serious blue water voyaging will be familiar with the Ovni range of aluminium offshore cruisers. Built by Alubat in France, Ovni yachts can be found all over the world from high latitudes to the tropics. Aluminium is three times as light as steel and much stronger than a composite built hull, is corrosion resistant and provides great impact resistance as it tends to deform and bend rather than puncture or shatter. With a hydraulic centreboard and lifting rudder giving her a 0.8m draft when lifted the Ovni 43  can access shallow waters that other boats her size can't and indeed can be fully dried out and beached if required.

Sleeping a potential nine across three cabins and the saloon, 'Lotus' is superbly spacious with a practical seagoing galley and twin heads and shower compartments. Featuring a sturdy rig, wheel steering, a deep safe cockpit, aft radar arch and large bathing platform 'Lotus' is an ideal, all weather, cruising yacht. With a layout that would lend itself to long term living aboard and with her renowned Ovni seaworthiness she is a serious option for those with adventurous plans. Lotus benefits from many recent upgrades by her current owners including a powerful waterjet bow thruster (2023) and a new 50Hp Volvo engine (2024).

Currently lying ashore at Largs marina in Scotland please call our Kip office to arrange an appointment to view.
