"I can highly recommend the team around Phil Dollin at Inspiration Marine at Hamble Point Marina. If you want to buy a Hanse or Hanse Group boat in the UK you are in good hands. We acquired a new Hanse 418 at the 2017 Southampton Boat Show from Inspiration after reviewing and test sailing a number of boats on the South Coast. We chose the Hanse partly because of the quality of this dealership as we knew we needed the after sales help. My wife and I were complete newbies when it came to sailing and boats. I have to say that it was a very pleasant experience from start to finish. The degree of advice Phil gave us on the sailing we were going to do and how that impacted boat choice was very welcome and clearly based on years of experience. He talked us out of a lot of the options we thought we needed and we ended up with a better boat as a result.
When buying new you need a good boat and a good dealer. Importantly when working with this team you get much more than a boat purchase. After the sale when Andy Locke takes over, he carefully plans the delivery and commissioning to fit in with your schedule and extras and needs and looked after us in all areas also arranging a full introduction to the boat and all its systems with an Inspiration engineer who is usually the engineer who actually commissioned your vessel and knows her best. This means you’re getting knowledgeable technical assistance for a long period of time. A few small things that had not been completed or that we requested as extras were easily sorted out within hours of our request even months later. It helped that we stayed local after commissioning but this really is great customer service. Andy knows and uses the best local companies for certain aspects (canvas work, electronics and engine commissioning etc) but takes overall responsibility. Oh and the 418 is a pretty good boat too".

"We purchased a new 385 last year and would like to register our appreciation of the UK agent Inspiration Marine. While any problems we had with the boat were minimal and mostly self inflicted, Inspiration were brilliant throughout. Great attention to detail during fit-out and then general support and interest once we took possession. In particular they listened to us, understood our requirements perfectly and offered advice and suggestions as appropriate.
The boat itself is a delight and very quick, particularly close-hauled if sailed with purpose. We think it slightly underpowered in light winds but will be rectifying this with a Code O and gennaker to supplement the furlstrom. In our view, if you are going to do this you need a dyneema spinnaker halyard. We have had it out in a decent blow and found the boat to behave beautifully, even at 14knts through the water! A wonderful boat, an inspired agent. What could be better?"
